Why? Why did I buy this? It was cheap. Still Life is a simple little civilized murder mystery, where nothing runs too deep and no one gets too emotionally involved. It’s kind of like eating a marshmallow, it seems like there’s a lot there but it’s mostly air and sugar and you’ve forgotten about it in a half hour or less. Much less. I don’t mind a book with a mystery in it, but I do mind a mystery for the sake of being a “what if someone killed someone this way and” sort of ordeal. Easy to read, forgettable, not an author I’d waste my time on again. 2 stars.
